Have you ever left a pack of gum in your car on a hot day? Have you taken a piece that feels warm but looks fine, only to find out it turns liquid as soon as you start chewing?
That’s what it feels like a week before book launch. I look fine. I’m getting everything done. But inside, I feel like liquid hot gum. Like warm jello before it slides into the fridge. Send hugs and preorders.
A WELL-TRAINED WIFE releases next Tuesday, August 6.
Here’s the 411. (This is a Gen X expression. It used to be the number we called for INFORMATION. We used to do that: dial a phone number to get Directory Assistance for Google-esque questions. We also called Time. It was a phone number dedicated to telling us what time it was, even though we all wore wristwatches back then.) Anyway—
Here are the launch events, local to Jacksonville, Florida, where much of the story takes place:
Another local bookstore getting in on the party is San Marco Books & More, where stacks of hardcovers lay waiting for me to sign and write out personalized notes. You can get yours here!
There are also presents for preorders.
In addition to the bundle linked above, I’m also offering a FREE LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION here, to The Anti-Fundamentalist. You can still preorder the book (through August 5) anywhere you buy books, in hardcover, digital, or audio, and then email contact@TiaLevings.com with your proof of purchase.
As we see in the headlines: The Christian Patriarchy runs their homes is how they want to run our country. So I’ve made it my mission to share with you what it’s really like to live behind closed doors in Christian Fundamentalism and to guide you through what it looks like to deconstruct their ideas. I do that through my transparent, vulnerable memoir, social media platform, and here.
I hope my work helps you:
become a more informed, empowered voter
see behind the idealized veil used by the Trad Wife and conservative movements
understand the covert agendas steering our government
make connections between harmful cultural practices and their religious roots
unpack and deconstruct rigid thought and behaviors we take with us even after we leave fundamentalism
contribute to taking down abusive patriarchy
About that jello…
To answer your questions: yes, I’m taking care of myself. Yes, I’m excited. Yes, it’s a little terrifying. No, I won’t be immediately touring. Yes, that’s a nervous system thing. Yes, preorders really matter (and also get you the book the fastest!)
Much love,
Tia

You sound just like me when I explain something I just to my kids. What makes it even worse is I have ADHD and I lose my train of thought if I'm distracted.
